Special Stage Route X is an oval test track that was released as DLC for Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6. The 30 km oval, designed for testing top speeds and acceleration, is similar in nature to the Test Course from previous Gran Turismo games, except while Test Course runs counter-clockwise, this course runs clockwise.

The course itself consists of two ~11km straights and two ~4km banked turns, with banking varying from 0 degrees to what appears almost 60 degrees. At the end of the front straight, there is a 3 km hill, mostly used to test uphill acceleration and downhill top speed. There are two 2km tunnels, one at the beginning of the front straight housing the massive pit area and lap line and one in the middle of the back straight at about the 6km mark.

There is also an unused part of the track which is most prominently seen just before the hill, where the left hand side of the track (no access) breaks off into a high-speed 270 degree spiral turn, and then heads to the geographical center of the complex. The course apparently reunites at the back straight 5km mark and separates again at the beginning of the front straight just before the front tunnel and pit area.

TriviaEdit

  • Special Stage Route X may be located somewhere close to Antarctica, because the Sun's zenith is extremely close to the horizon.
