The city known simply as Route 5 is a fictional location in the Gran Turismo series. It is presumed that this city is based on Japanese highways though the traffic signs show no indication of it being located in Japan, as evidenced by the signs saying "South Port - 5 km", "Newriver City - 1.8 km", which are based on American locations with incorrect distances.
