The Pagani Zonda R '09 is a Race car produced by Pagani. It appears in Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6.

In-game description

"The circuit spec Zonda with sequential transmission and variable rear wing."

Horacio Pagani is a designer who at one point worked for Lamborghini, even having a hand in the design of the Countach Anniversary model. And the Pagani Automobili is an Italian supercar manufacturer led by Mr. Pagani. Pagani is a company that produces limited quantities of dream cars - cars of the like which are no longer possible to build in other supercar manufacturers who have switched over to mass production. And the Zonda is a car that Pagani revealed at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show.

The unique, spectacular body of the Zonda is reminiscent of a Group C car, or a Le Mans prototype. It is built entirely out of carbon, and because of this the first Zonda C12 weighed in at an incredible 1230 kg. And the engine powering this ultra-light supercar is a 641 HP AMG V12, so you can easily imagine the jaw-dropping performance of this car.

There were few variations of the Zonda made after its initial release, and this particular Zonda R is a dedicated model for circuit racing, much like the Ferrari FXX. The midship-mounted AMG V12 produces 740 HP/523.6 ft-lb of torque, and the transmission is a 6-speed sequential. In order to raise stability on the circuit, the wheel base and tread width has been extended, and for improved aerodynamics, a large spoiler is fitted to the front, and a variable wing is mounted in the rear. The total length of the car has been extended by nearly 400 mm to streamline the airflow on the car. According to official manufacturers specs, its maximum speed is an amazing 217 mph, and the 0-62 mph acceleration is just 2.7 seconds.
