The Nissan OPTION Stream Z '04 is a heavily tuned Nissan 350Z. It features a yellow/orange paint job with purple tribal decals and various manufacturer decals. It also sports a rear spoiler and a custom body kit. The car has very bad handling and braking due to the immense weight and a terrible 0-60 time from a standstill. When accelerating from a standstill, the car will lag at speeds less than 10 MPH for a few seconds before the engine kicks in. An ideal remedy is to purchase a better suspension, lighten the car, install stronger brakes, and equip racing tires.

The Option Z was a car that was built by JUN Auto, a well known tuner, and Option, an automotive magazine. The first car was severely damaged in a crash due to a damaged tire. The next Z car was fitted with a wider body kit and a safety parachute. Later the car was damaged in another accident and during the Nevada Open Road Challenge, the engine blew up.

"A monster Z built to drive 90 miles at over 300 km/h."

In 2004, Japan's foremost tuner-car magazine, Option, tackled the Silver State Classic Challenge in the U.S. for the second year in a row, and the car they built for the race was this Stream Z ver. 2. Built to travel a distance of 89.4 miles at an average top speed of over 186 mph, the car was equipped with a powerful engine and numerous other tuning upgrades.

The body parts were supplied by Top Secret, an aftermarket tuner specializing in high-speed cars. Aerodynamic performance was improved by widening the fenders by 1.9 inches on each side and extending the front overhang by 7 inches. The new body kit would provide gobs of downforce, necessary to keep the car stable at high speed. JUN Auto, a highly-respected afternarket tuner that had been associated with the All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC), did the rest.

In addition to installing custom pistons, and connecting rods and a new crankshaft to the RB powerplant, displacement was increased to 3,772 cc. Also, a Trust GReddy T88H-38GK turbocharger was bolted onto the inline-6, allowing it to generate up to 986 HP. The suspension was a custom-built unit by ZEAL Super Function, designed to withstand the rigers of a prolonged high-speed run.

The car's brakes were upgrades to 6-pot calipers in front and 4-pot calipers at rear. And as a safety measure, a complex roll cage was installed inside the cabin.
