The HKS R33 Drag GT-R is a Tuned car produced by HKS, but is listed as a Nissan vehicle in its only appearance in Gran Turismo 2. The car is a Drag Racing version of the Nissan SKYLINE GT-R (R33) '97.

The only advantage of this car is its great acceleration and top speed, which makes this car suitable for high speed circuits such as Test Course. However, there is massive amounts of understeer at speeds in excess of 200km/h, due to the drag racing aerodynamics and tyres. If the player intends to use this car in a technical circuit like Grand Valley Speedway, it is more of a test of keeping the car on the track, let alone winning a race.

This car can be won from the Tuned Turbo Car No.1 Cup event. It has a 1/3 chance (33% probability) to come as a prize car.

  • Originally drag racing was intended to be in Gran Turismo 2, but it was removed due to time constraints. This explain the presence of this car in the game.
