The Honda S2000 is a roadster that was manufactured by Honda from 1999 to 2009. First shown as a concept car (named the SSM) at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995, the production version was launched in April 1999 to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary. The S2000 is named for its engine displacement of two liters (increased to 2.2 liters in 2003 in North America and 2006 in Japan), carrying on in the tradition of the S500, S600, and S800 roadsters of the 1960s; this tradition was also carried forward by the S660 in 2015, also acting as the spiritual successor of the Beat.

Trivia[]

  • Possibly due to European trademark reasons, the EUDM S2000 models have Honda written with capital letters. The car logo banners for these models also have Honda logo on them, instead of just the S2000 logo.
