The Eagle Talon Esi '97 is a road car produced by Eagle. It appears in Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo PSP, Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6. This car was built alongside the Mitsubishi ECLIPSE GT '95, as part of the Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) partnership.

Imported during the era of Japan's economic bubble, the 2nd generation is the representative model of this "returning expatriate car". Like the original production, it is a specialty car using the Galant chassis. As with the original production, it was built by Chrysler and Mitsubishi through their DSM (Diamond Star Motors, later MMMA) joint venture.
In North America, a substantial share of the market for stylish compact coupes is comprised of women. The 2nd generation Eclipse was geared for that market, emphasizing its ease of ride and friendliness.
On the exterior, the expressionless retractable headlights were done away with, replaced by sporty oblong headlights. The body size remained unchanged from the 173.0 inches total length, but the width increased from 66.5 inches to 68.7 inches, making a wide and low-form body. After reconsidering certain aspects such as the blacked out glass cabin, the wildness of the 1st generation was done away with, and a new Eclipse - with a more woman-friendly look - was born.
One topic of interest was the disposal of the full-time 4WD and specialized implementation of front wheel drive. This change was made with female drivers in mind, but due to this change the car's weight could be reduced by 300kg. This increased engine power, and the 2.0L Turbo that was 197 HP in the old model was strengthened to 217 HP for the automatic and 227 HP for the manual transmission. The underbody evolved into a multi-link suspension to handle this power, making even the most diehard drivers satisfied.
In 1996, the convertible model "Spyder" was added, further broadening the user base.
