The BMW Vision Gran Turismo is a car that appears in Gran Turismo 6. Its styling is based off of a modern interpretation of the Group 5 silhouette racers of the 1970s, most likely the 1970s BMW E9 3.0 CS as seen in its modern view of design.
Acquisition
The car can be won by simply completing a lap in a Seasonal Event regardless whether the time is valid or not, only at the time when the car was debut. It can also be purchased from the Vision Gran Turismo section of the main menu for 1,000,000 Credits.
Handling
The BMW VGT is an amazingly agile car with quick acceleration and impeccable stability through corners; not surprising given it weighs a scant 1,180kg, which is lighter than most other GT-style cars in the game. The car does not have as much downforce as its counterparts, but it more than counterbalances this with exceptional handling balance which allows one to take very aggressive lines with no drama. That said, due to the lack of downforce, the rear isn't as "bolted-down" as the cars the game mostly matches it up against, which can intimidate some drivers, though with a little practice one can learn to pivot the car using the throttle to provide a better exit angle. All in all, a fantastic grand tourer.
