Aprilia's RSV1000R Factory is a factory racing motorcycle based on the RSV1000 sports model but equipped with radially mounted Brembo four-pot calipers, Ohlins suspension in the front and rear, OZ forged-aluminium rims, and carbon parts. Aprilia Works first entered the machine in competition in 2005, in the Suzuka 8-hour Endurance Race. The RSV1000R showed its full potential by winning the superstock class (which allows the narrowest range of modifications) and coming in 43rd overall.
The racing modifications made to this bike boost the already-impressive dynamic performance of the RSV1000R Factory to bring out every ounce of its potential as a V-twin sports model.
The body is the product of a 2003 redesign that improved mass concentration. The body was also lightened by replacing all exterior parts with carbon ones and by removing all lights and related attachments. The fuel injection intake program was also modified to suit the all-titanium racing exhaust. To handle the machine's awesome power-181 ps at 9,500 r.p.m.—the front and rear Ohlins suspension is tuned hard.
