The Honda NSX (marketed in North America as the Acura NSX) is a mid-engined two seat sports car developed by Honda during the 1980s and premiered to the world market in 1990. The car was extremely successful, and made a lasting impact in the supercar community with it's low, lightweight body and livable ergonomic design. The simple V6 configuration made the car suitable and reliable enough for daily use yet potent enough on the track.

The sports car community took notice of the NSX and the car influenced many future designs, including the famed McLaren F1.

After it was discontinued in 2005, rumors circulated about a potential revival of the nameplate. A concept version was unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan and entered production in 2016 (for 2017 American model year), now featuring hybrid-electric midship four-wheel drivetrain, marketed as SH-AWD.

At least one iteration of the Honda/Acura NSX appeared in every Gran Turismo game to date, excluding Gran Turismo HD Concept.

Trivia[]

  • In GT1, all NSX models suffer from an issue where the rear wheels could be seen thru the car's rear trunk, as a result of the wheel polygons having lower Z-byte priority compared to the trunk. This issue was fixed in GT2, but is present in Honda Castrol Mugen NSX GT (JGTC) '98.
  • Due to a romanization/translation error, the color "Charlotte Green Pearl" (シャーロットグリーンパール) is incorrectly written as "Shallot Green Pearl" until the Honda NSX Type R '92 was added to GT Sport.
