In-game descriptionEdit

This description is taken from the description page in GT5. It is transcluded from here.

The son of the legendary 7-time NASCAR Cup series champion Dale Earnhardt, "Junior" is one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR today. Tragically, this dynamic father and son racing duo only competed with each other in NASCAR's top series for little more than one year. Near the end of the 2001 Daytona 500, with Dale Jr. running in the second position, Dale Sr. was killed in a devastating crash on the last lap, thus drawing the curtain on an incredible life and career.

While all of America was shocked by the death of the NASCAR hero, Dale Jr. fought his way out of the despair. He scored an emotional race win in the 17th event of the year when the series returned to the famed Daytona International Speedway, evoking deep emotions from both the driver and fans at the race venue where his father had passed away just a few months before. Junior went on to score another emotional victory that year (2001) at Dover International Speedway in the first NASCAR race after the tragic events of 9/11.

Having scored numerous Sprint Cup victories over the years, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has yet to score a championship title. But he took one step closer to making his dream a reality when he moved to one of the top Chevrolet works teams in the series, Hendrick Motorsports, in 2008 and is now a teammate of multiple championship-winning drivers Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.

Dale Jr. now has all of the prerequisites for gaining a championship, and millions of fans eagerly await the day he becomes the new king of NASCAR.
